A SOURCE LIST OF OUR ESSENTIAL MULTI-USE POWER TOOLS FOR CARAVAN RENOVATION

DEWALT 20V CORDLESS LITHIUM-ION COMPACT DRILL

Why we love this product:

Dewalt makes a fantastic drill. We upgraded to the cordless version after our first renovation for our full-time travel. The compact size allows for working in tiny spaces, and the drill can take a beating and still operate normally. We insist on durability during our renovations, especially a multi-use workhorse such as a drill.

DEWALT 12" SLIDING COMPOUND MITER SAW

Why we love this product:

So many uses. From installing flooring, quick cuts on 2 bys when building cabinetry framing, to that perfect 45-degree angle on our pocket door. For precision and ease, it can't be beat.

PORTER-CABLE BENCH TOP ROUTER TABLE

Why we love this product:

Big fans of the router table for getting after that detail work. While this tool may not be essential for everyone, it's definitely one that we are grateful to have in our arsenal. We've used this for routing out finger pulls on cabinets and drawers.

DEWALT 5.5 AMP TOP HANDLE JIG SAW

Why we love this product:

You're gonna need a jig saw if you're renovating an Airstream - it's the only tool for the job when you're cutting those (in)famous curves - subfloor, walls, cabinetry, and furniture.

HITACHI 15-AMP 7 1/4" CIRCULAR SAW

Why we love this product:

One of those things we went without our first renovation - until we couldn't. A circular saw is so damn versatile, portable, and quick. We use ours for slicing up that birch plywood and crafting cabinetry. We also recommend grabbing a BORA Circular Saw Plate and Straight Edge Guide for straight, true cuts.

BOSCH COLT SINGLE-SPEED PALM-GRIP ROUTER

Why we love this product:

We used this handy little guy for routing out channels for our "famous" sliding doors in our custom cabinetry in the '57 Airstream that everyone loved so much. Click the image above to watch the router in action. Once again, this is a tool for specific needs and not an absolute necessity, but one we are glad to have around.

BRAD NAILER

Why we love this product:

We love our Brad Nailer. So much so, we've personified this little inanimate object and call him - you guessed it - Brad Nailer (his faithful wife is Pin Nailer, in case you were wondering). It's much faster than using screws and a drill, and we find that cleaning up the finish on the cabinet goes much faster and looks far more polished.

CHICAGO ELECTRIC HEAVY DUTY ANGLE GRINDER

Why we love this product:

If you're interested in a full gut renovation, you're gonna encounter the subfloor removal and rusty chassis - it's inevitable. Make quick work of the removal of those bolts in the C-channel with a cutoff wheel and grind off years of built-up rust with a flapper disc.

TABLE SAW

Why we love this product:

We are all about having the right tool for every job - and when doing a renovation of this magnitude, having a bevy of sawing options is essential in our opinion. We use our table saw for ripping boards with precision and ease. Check out the walnut countertops we crafted using our table saw.
